There is nothing like delicious Party Mix served at holiday gatherings. This savory, flavorful delicacy is a treat with cocktails or packaged up to give as gifts. There are many variations of the ingredients you can include. This recipe is a delicious blend of different types of crackers, snacks, pretzels and nuts (especially the tasty Better Halves Roasted Pecans for added crunch and flavor. This also includes a tasty mix of seasoning from the aromatic sesame oil to the punch of Worcestershire Sauce and smoked paprika. Mix them all together in a big bowl or bag, and you’ve got a tasty snack mix for any gathering. This recipe is courtesy of one of our test kitchens in Augusta, GA.
A new “mix” on Party Mix!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Cheezit Puffs
- 2 cups Premium Saltine Minis
- 1.5 cups Rice Chex Cereal
- 1.5 cups Cheddar Jalapeno Goldfish
- 2 cups Fritos
- 2 cups Club Minis
- 2 cups Dot’s Pretzels or Snyder’s Butter Snaps
- 1 cup Planters Salted Cocktail Peanuts
- 1 cup Better Halves Roasted Pecan Halves
- 1 cup Macadamia Nuts
- 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
- 4 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 4 tablespoons Sesame Oil
- 1 to 2 tablespoons Tabasco hot sauce, to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder, plus more to taste
- 1 teaspoon onion powder, plus more to taste
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 2 teaspoons fine sea salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper, plus more to taste
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 250°.
- Line a deep sided baking sheet pan (like this one) or two standard sheet pans with heavy duty extra-large Reynolds Wrap. If using 2 baking sheets, arrange racks in the top and bottom thirds of the oven; if using deep-sided pan, arrange rack in lower third of oven.
- Combine dry ingredients in a very large bowl.
- Melt butter in a small saucepan over low heat on the stovetop.
- Add Worcestershire sauce, sesame oil, hot sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt and pepper. Stir until well mixed.
- Add half of the melted butter mixture to the dry mixture. Gently and thoroughly fold to combine. Add the rest of the melted butter mixture and stir until evenly coated. Taste and adjust seasonings.
- Divide the mixture evenly across the prepared pans or all mixture evenly on bottom of deep-sided pan. Bake, stirring and switching racks every 20 minutes, until crisp and slightly darkened in color, about 2 hours.
- Turn off the oven with mixture cooling inside for around 30 minutes before serving (if you can wait that long). Store in an airtight container for up to 3 weeks.
